We do our best to implement as many Ideas as we can. Our Product team will evaluate all submitted ideas in a timely manner and will disposition each into one of the following categories: will integrate into the product roadmap, further research is needed, unlikely to implement.

Knife ec backup should be able to skip validation

Validation checking is great especially when running tidy or other clean-up tasks inside of Knife ec backup. Sometimes you just need to get a backup, and do a restore regardless of the state & hygiene of the system. Validating ACLs, cookbooks, environments, roles, etc when they're broken on a source server means we can impede a customers ability to backup and restore or migrate in an emergency situation. Skipping validation would alleviate these problems.
